We present the main technological challenges for the application of the cognitive radio (CR) concept in a Defense Scenario. After a brief introduction to the main characteristics and requirements for CR, we focus on spectrum sensing, dis- cussing the system architecture, spectral estimation and inter- ference identification/classification. In particular, we describe the role of cyclostationary-based detection and estimation in a CR network and their potential capabilities to detect and recognize transmission parameters and modulation formats.

Abstract
We present the main technological challenges for the application of the cognitive radio (CR) concept in a Defense Scenario. After a brief introduction to the main characteristics and requirements for CR, we focus on spectrum sensing, dis- cussing the system architecture, spectral estimation and inter- ference identification/classification. In particular, we describe the role of cyclostationary-based detection and estimation in a CR network and their potential capabilities to detect and recognize transmission parameters and modulation formats.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
