This paper analyses the reasons for the use of the memory of the wife and daughter of Emperor Vespasian, Flavia Domitilla the Elder and Flavia Domitilla the Younger, both died before 69 A.D., the year in which Vespasian became Emperor. This memory is mainly recov- ered by Domitian; in particular, this recovery is investigated in relation to the role played in the Flavian domus by Julia, daughter of Titus.
