The purpose of this work is to cast new light on the archaeological survey in the area of the Theoderic’s villa in Galeata (FC). The study focuses on archaelogical and archaeometric analysis about stone and marble evidences and plasters from several excavation campaigns. Trying to get a possible reconstruction of the decoration phases that characterised the late ancient villa, emerges as the context is distinguished by the presence of precious and exotic lithotypes, finely worked even if often reused from the II-III A.D. phases of the site. A reflection about the suggestions and the symbolic values of the reflective materials and light allowes to get some considerations regarding the perception of the spaces in VI century.

Abstract
