Fridtjof Wedel-Jarlsberg Nansen was known as a Norwegian researcher, scientist, politician, humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. He led a team that crossed Greenland for the first time in 1888 on cross-country skiing. Being a man of business, Nansen did not stand aside after the dramatic events of the First World War, when the European continent was destroyed, empires crumbled, the population suffered from hunger and instability reigned around. He led the successful international cooperation in the field of repatriation of prisoners of war to / from Russia.
