In the last few years one of the most debated aspects of the Justinian I Plague from a numismatic point of view is the impact on emissions and monetary circulation. Leaving aside these purely economic matters, that is the world of commerce and what revolves around it. It would be better to understand what happened to the issue and circulation of money in the Byzantine East at the turn of the 5th and 6th centuries AD, an era of climatic and political upheavals.
