In this contribution we will examine the relationships that existed between the “grosso” coin minted in Bologna, called "bolognino", and some contemporary coins of other mints, which were in turn called "bolognini". These imitations, morphologically different according to the origin of the mint, had characteristics such as to make them believe to be counterfeits in the past, considering the minimal intrinsic variations between the bolognino and its "imitations". In this study, different methods of numismatic investigation will be used, first of all the official data taken from contemporary documents have been studied, then the various known hoard have been analyzed and finally the coins present in some numismatic collections. By combining these data, we will try to shed light on this coin which was so successful that it circulated both in central-northern Italy and in the Kingdom of Naples.

Abstract
By combining these data, we will try to shed light on this coin which was so successful that it circulated both in central-northern Italy and in the Kingdom of Naples.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
