La scienza e l’incertezza. Un percorso attraverso la ricchezza del pensiero di Danilo Zolo: Stato, diritti e relazioni internazionali nell’orizzonte della globalizzazione

The essay analyses Danilo Zolo’s thought, considering firstly his method which consists in adopting the perspective of a political theory between political philosophy and political science. On this ground the essay underlines Zolo's critical analysis of the limits of international law in comparison with the system of international relations and, in particular, his criticism of human rights’ universalism, which represents a doctrine functional to the hegemonic strategies of Western powers in the frame of globalisation. In the last paragraph of the essay attention is paid to Mediterranean, which in Zolo's thought represents an alternative to the American Atlanticism’s policies and the possible geopolitical frame of an encounter between different cultures
