In this article we contextualize Fabrizio Frasnedi’s research and teaching in the humanistic-affective theoretical construct. Frasnedi’s contribution starts from some central and recurring concepts (complexity, ecology, subjectivity, meaning), and it is radically theoretical, but in constant dialogue with the teaching practice. It is useful both for the teaching the mother tongue and an L2. The method proposed by Frasnedi is hermeneutic and dialogic, always oriented towards linguistic skills, especially reading and writing.
