The paper describes a novel approach for the two-step reforming of methanol, aimed at the production of H2 with intrinsic separation of C-containing compounds. Spinel-type ferrites have been first reduced under anaerobic conditions by contact with methanol, and then reoxidized with water, to generate hydrogen.
