Abstract : The contrastive analysis of some European Parliament’s own initiative reports in French and Italian reveals how the effects of directive perlocutionary acts and of the contextual anchoring of subject, – among others, spatial and temporal deixis that is typical of description –, are different in these two languages. This proves that translation contributes to avoid that this kind of discursive genre becomes an “instituant” discourse (Oger, Ollivier-Yanniv 2003 p. 2).
