The declared aim of this book is to ‘rescue Kropotkin from the framework of classical anarchism and to explain the politics that led him to support the Entente powers in 1914’ and to ‘offer an alternative to the ideological, exclusionary accounts of anarchism that the invention of the classic tradition has helped to stimulate’ (p. 197). Notwithstanding the ambitious nature of this aim, Kinna has succeeded in her task and the resulting book stands out as a major contribution to anarchist scholarship. Given the fact that Kropotkin (1842e1921) was not only a leading figure in the history and philosophy of anarchism but also a geographer (and one who has recently been rediscovered by several contributions to the field of anarchist geography), Kinna's book contributes in important ways to a range of current geographical debates

Abstract
The declared aim of this book is to ‘rescue Kropotkin from the framework of classical anarchism and to explain the politics that led him to support the Entente powers in 1914’ and to ‘offer an alternative to the ideological, exclusionary accounts of anarchism that the invention of the classic tradition has helped to stimulate’ (p. 197). Notwithstanding the ambitious nature of this aim, Kinna has succeeded in her task and the resulting book stands out as a major contribution to anarchist scholarship. Given the fact that Kropotkin (1842e1921) was not only a leading figure in the history and philosophy of anarchism but also a geographer (and one who has recently been rediscovered by several contributions to the field of anarchist geography), Kinna's book contributes in important ways to a range of current geographical debatesI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
