Trajectories of compositional data are sequences of composition measurements along a domain and can be considered as functional data. Functional Cluster Analysis (FCA) has been applied by practitioners and scientists in many fields but, to our knowledge, it has not been extended to cope with the problem of clustering compositional data trajectories. In this work, we extend FCA techniques to the analysis of compositional data by using a suitable compositional algebra. An application to a case-study is sketched.

Abstract
Trajectories of compositional data are sequences of composition measurements along a domain and can be considered as functional data. Functional Cluster Analysis (FCA) has been applied by practitioners and scientists in many fields but, to our knowledge, it has not been extended to cope with the problem of clustering compositional data trajectories. In this work, we extend FCA techniques to the analysis of compositional data by using a suitable compositional algebra. An application to a case-study is sketched.File in questo prodotto:
