This chapter, through the experience of the European BIOAPI-OER project, summarizes the debate on MOOCs and the situation with Open Educational Resources (OERs), raising these very topical issues that are the subject of significant research and implementation in education. On the other hand, by focusing on the more operational side of the design and development of content, we wished to lay out the potential (and current) design guidelines to support the construction of interactive online learning environments based on gamification and digital storytelling.
