The message I would like to convey is that, if we want to adopt a proactive attitude - and pursue the kind of 'bridge building between the humanities and the sciences' recommended by Willard McCarty - historians of science should launch some new, major, collaborative project of a kind not yet tried. A project likely to attract the support of scientists themselves, and taking advantage of the resourse potentially available because of the current, general interest in information extraction, as illustrated by John Nerbonne.

Abstract
The message I would like to convey is that, if we want to adopt a proactive attitude - and pursue the kind of 'bridge building between the humanities and the sciences' recommended by Willard McCarty - historians of science should launch some new, major, collaborative project of a kind not yet tried. A project likely to attract the support of scientists themselves, and taking advantage of the resourse potentially available because of the current, general interest in information extraction, as illustrated by John Nerbonne.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
