The aim of the article is to analyse the surrogate of motherhood as well as the gestational surrogacy with the lens of the ontology of vulnerability. In particularly, the author develops the discussion taking into consideration three main topics: the relationship of pregnancy carried by the surrogate mother, the stateless child dilemma, and the family itself – mostly those of primary gay fatherhood. The paper suggests that the vulnerability approach is useful to outline some further considerations about the sur-rogacy as a relationship practice, as a way of empowerment and the role of the State in regulating transnational surrogacy.

Abstract
The aim of the article is to analyse the surrogate of motherhood as well as the gestational surrogacy with the lens of the ontology of vulnerability. In particularly, the author develops the discussion taking into consideration three main topics: the relationship of pregnancy carried by the surrogate mother, the stateless child dilemma, and the family itself – mostly those of primary gay fatherhood. The paper suggests that the vulnerability approach is useful to outline some further considerations about the sur-rogacy as a relationship practice, as a way of empowerment and the role of the State in regulating transnational surrogacy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
