This paper presents the relationship between Miyazawa Kenji and Italian culture through a comparative study of ‘Ginga tetsudo no yoru’ and Divina commedia. It highlights the many similarities between the two works and attempt to clarify if Miyazawa kenji could be influenced bt Divina Commedia through an analysis of the diffusion of this book during the Meiji (1868-1912) and Taisho period (1912-1926).
