The work of David Freedberg – Pierre Matisse Professor Professor of the History of Art and Director of The Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at the Columbia University of New York, shows an extremely original interdisciplinarity, one that allows even the most distant disciplines to interact with each other; this text retrace the distinctive characters of such interdisciplinarity, investigating especially the relationship with architecture and its territorial dimension, starting from the elements of empathy, from the ability of dance to measure the space, from the outcomes of the studies undertaken in the neurosciences.
