An enhanced short cavity scheme for Brillouin sensing employing a Brillouin fiber ring laser has been studied, showing a good laser efficiency, a narrow full width half maximum of generated light and a low intensity noise up to 800 MHz, constituting a promising pump-probe source in BOTDA sensing.
