This essay tries to elaborate a criteria for recognizing different forms of moral responsibility within the context of societies which have been shown guilty of collective macro-crimes. Referring to new cruel manifestations of violence supported, indirectly or directly, by German society during Nazism, it defines the concept of responsibility based around two fundamental elements: its relationship with personal autonomy and its intrinsic relational character.
