Concrete and cement can be defined as the most popular and used building materials due to their versatility, durability, mechanical and physical performances. However, their production is extremely expensive from an environmental point of view. Several waste types, characterized by different nature and origin, have been proposed as cement replacement and concrete constituent: among them, glass, usually coming from cullet of separated collection, has largely been studied as it can be used either as cement replacement or aggregate with different grain size. The results obtained by previous researches exploiting post-consumer glass of different chemical compositions as cement constituent or fine aggregate in mortar samples are reviewed and discussed.
