Du flâneur au détective. La ville à explorer, déchiffrer, aimer

The present work proposes an association between the figure of the flâneur and that of the detective, in conjunction with the relationship that these figures establish and maintain with the urban space. First of all, the spatial and temporal coordinates of the appearance of the flâneur are examined, as well as its main characteristics, linked to the new relationship he establishes with the city. Secondly, the differences between flânerie and detection are analysed, with the attempt to identify the elements that connect or separate the figure of the flâneur and that of the detective. Finally, the attention is focused on the indissoluble link between city and detective fiction, and on the definition of the relationship between the detective, a true investigator of the territory, and the city in which he acts and moves.
