The aim of this study was to evaluate periovulatory plasma levels of progesterone and estrogens in the mare. Eighteen mares were ultrasonographically monitored for follicular growth and blood collected to analyse progesterone and estrogens plasma levels. Hormones were evaluated by RIA on plasma collected every 12 h from 24 h before and 24 h after ovulation, and at pregnancy diagnosis.
