Lo Studio di varie fabbriche in prospettiva e le regole della prospettiva nel primo Leonardo = The Studio di varie fabbriche in prospettiva and the rules of perspective in Leonardo's early drawing

This contribution illustrates an in-depth study of the perspective construction used in Florentine botteghe in the second half of the fifteenth century based on an analysis of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing Studio di varie fabbriche in prospettiva (preparatory study for the Adoration of the Magi) housed in the Department of Prints and Drawings of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. The drawing was studied using a digital acquisition and restitution instrument capable of providing a 50 μm resolution and a faithful reproduction of the colour and layout, making it indistinguishable from the original. The authors were thus able to observe details revealing Leonardo’s graphic procedure, reconstruct his perspective procedure, and formulate new hypotheses regarding the ‘grey’ areas of our current knowledge about the procedure.

Il saggio si propone di approfondire il tema della costruzione prospettica nelle botteghe fiorentine della seconda metà del XV secolo partendo dall’analisi del famoso disegno di Leonardo da Vinci Scenario architettonico e rissa di cavalieri (studio prospettico per l'Adorazione dei Magi) conservato al Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe degli Uffizi a Firenze. Lo sviluppo di uno strumento di acquisizione e restituzione digitale dell’artefatto grafico in grado di mostrare una risoluzione di 50 μm e una fedeltà del colore e della trama indistinguibile dal reale ha consentito di osservare dettagli capaci di restituire l’intero processo grafico dell’artista. In questo modo è stato possibile ricostruire l’intera procedura prospettica e formulare nuove ipotesi in merito alle aree ‘grigie’ di conoscenza della procedura.
