We present a distributed fast protocol for broadcast in ad hoc vehicular networks, and the results of a set of experiment that we carried to test it. Our proposal, called FROV, gains optimal performance in very reasonable real scenarios. These scenario are challenging and were not extensively studied in literature. In particular, we consider individual and variable transmission ranges of the vehicles and asymmetrical communications between them. Our proposal do not require any global knowledge, and exploits the locality of the data and the computations. FROV is scalable with respect to both the length of the road and the number of participating vehicles. In addition, FROV tolerates faults and changes of membership of the participants set. The results we gained from our experiments confirmed the properties of FROV and suggested the right parameters to fine tuning the protocol

Abstract
The results we gained from our experiments confirmed the properties of FROV and suggested the right parameters to fine tuning the protocolI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
