Il lungo cammino dei pellegrinaggi

The journey towards a sacred destination can be pointed out, as an illustrious precedent to the modern journey of instruction, that is to say the Grand Tour, at least until the end of the 18th century. The pilgrimage reaches today with renewed modalities allowing a double reading: the first one related to its nature of physical and at the same time spiritual path; the second being historical practice and therefore capable of adapting to constantly changing social and cultural realities, also feeding reflection and current debates on the proximity and / or overlap between pilgrimage and religious tourism.

Il viaggio verso una meta sacra, può essere additato, quale precedente illustre al viaggio di istruzione di età moderna, ossia al Grand Tour, almeno fino a tutto il XVIII secolo. Il pellegrinaggio giunge fino ad oggi con modalità rinnovate permettendo una duplice lettura: la prima relativa alla sua natura di percorso fisico e al contempo spirituale; la seconda l’essere pratica storica e dunque capace di adeguarsi a realtà sociali e culturali in continuo cambiamento alimentando, anche, la riflessione e gli attuali dibattiti sulla prossimità e/o sovrapposizione tra pellegrinaggio e turismo religioso.
