La psicologia differenziale. Una premessa evolutiva per la musica. Un percorso verso la musicoterapia

Although the historical idea of differential psychology was born as a great utopia, the creative aspect linked to that subject has gradually been defined and enriched with unexpected contributions, from the study of intelligence to that of emotions, personality traits, social and interactive skills. All these applications have made the subject of differential psychology very articulated and fluid. When the concept of aptitude reached the musical knowledge realm new considerations took place on the relationship between attitude and thought, communication and potential spaces within which therapeutic relationships could be articulated. In this view musical attitude can be linked with the non-verbal dialogue that takes place within a music therapy session. Two terms can be highlighted - potentiality and creativity - to constitute the two cardinal dimensions that characterize the very concept of musical aptitude within the music therapy context.
