The article deals with the sexual behavior of Ahreman, the primordial antagonist of Ohrmazd, in the framework of the Iranian Zoroastrian cosmology. The negative creation of the dark Lord of the demons is obtained throughout an act of self-sodomy. This event shows some of the most important destructive and negative characters of Ahreman, whose target is the nihilistic negation of life and reproduction. The author demonstrates that the Mazdean mythographers imagined the evil Lord as the main representative of all the negatives drives, and focuses on the coherence of this story in the context of Zoroastrian theology with the help of some psychoanalitical means of interpretation, in particular with reference to the so-called narcissistic patterns. This article is part of a wide research dedicated to unconscious archetypes attested in the Iranian Pre-Islamic religious literature.
