Jazykovaja politika po zaščite minoritarnych jazykov v Evrope i v Italii: problemy, proekty, rešenija

Minority Language policy in Europe and in Italy: problems, plans and solutions In the last decades EU language policy legislation in support of minority languages promotes multilingualism with several new dispositions and programs. The European charter affirms that “the protection of the historical regional or minority languages of Europe, some of which are in danger of eventual extinction, contributes to the maintenance and development of Europe's cultural wealth and traditions”. In the paper we present the Italian effort to implement these new programs and specific Italian laws in the difficult Italian diglossic situation, where among all the varieties of minority languages, only some of them received the proper support.
