Society is recently undergoing extremely rapid changes partially following those in communication technologies. The dynamics of information processing at citizen level is totally new. The political organisations however retain the same structure of centuries ago. The voting systems, in particular, are oversimplified and decision making is more and more complicated and happening mostly at high level. As a result a large and increasing part of the population feels unsatisfied and alienated from political engagement, especially younger citizens. This initiative, promoted by the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of Bologna is addressing this topic from an interdisciplinary perspective involving political sciences, social sciences but also mathematics and computer sciences approaches.
