The focus of IT-SusChem on Catalysis and catalytic processes highlights the need for: (a) a multi-disciplinary approach of the research, (b) the merging of different competencies and expertises, and (c) a joint effort of chemical companies and of University research teams. In this context, worth of mention are some emblematic examples: 1) The study of new catalysts and new approaches for the production of chemicals can open new perspectives for the development of cleaner and safer synthetic pathways. 2) Understanding the reaction network of complex reactions can lead to the improvement of catalytic performance, and to the proper design/tuning of catalyst composition. 3) Understanding the dynamic nature of the catalytically active phase under reactive atmosphere can provide information on the best reaction conditions for a specific catalyst. 4) The use of new reactor configurations or modes of operation can lead to substantial improvement of reaction selectivity, improving the chances for commercial implementation of new processes.

Abstract
4) The use of new reactor configurations or modes of operation can lead to substantial improvement of reaction selectivity, improving the chances for commercial implementation of new processes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
