The phase estimation accuracy level of voltage and current signals of the power network is affected by the inevitable noise. In this paper, the effect of the white noise on phase estimation provided by frequency shifting and filtering (FSF) is analyzed. With the help of the Equivalent Weighting Filter's merits, viz., Equivalent Noise BandWidth and Overlap Correlation, the FSF-based phase variance expression is derived theoretically by considering the overlap of two processed samples. The effectiveness of the proposed phase variance expression is verified through computer simulations.

Abstract
The phase estimation accuracy level of voltage and current signals of the power network is affected by the inevitable noise. In this paper, the effect of the white noise on phase estimation provided by frequency shifting and filtering (FSF) is analyzed. With the help of the Equivalent Weighting Filter's merits, viz., Equivalent Noise BandWidth and Overlap Correlation, the FSF-based phase variance expression is derived theoretically by considering the overlap of two processed samples. The effectiveness of the proposed phase variance expression is verified through computer simulations.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
