The aim of the present essay is to examine one particular change introduced to the Cypro-Minoan sign repertoire by Olivier and maintained by Ferrara. The modification in question involves three of E. Masson’s sign shapes – 08, 13, and 78 – and exposes two problems of paleography. In the following sections I propose solutions for both and dwell on their numerous implications for Cypro-Minoan studies.
