The article analyses the Levinasian notion of "non-indifference" for the other, which is closely linked to the conception of the subjectivity proposed in "Otherwise than Being". The notion of non-indifference, which Levinas elaborates in relation to moral indifference, is distinguished from that of attention, through a reconsideration of the Husserlian analysis dedicated to this topic. The article also shows that non-indifference gives rise to a profound restlessness, which the subject experiences in sensible contact with the other.

Abstract
The article analyses the Levinasian notion of "non-indifference" for the other, which is closely linked to the conception of the subjectivity proposed in "Otherwise than Being". The notion of non-indifference, which Levinas elaborates in relation to moral indifference, is distinguished from that of attention, through a reconsideration of the Husserlian analysis dedicated to this topic. The article also shows that non-indifference gives rise to a profound restlessness, which the subject experiences in sensible contact with the other.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
