The Outermost Regions in the European Integration Process

Outermost Regions are considered as a whole by the European Union because it is more effective to have a global strategy for all these very far parts of member states. But from an historical point of view, differences are very important and is this differences that we will analysis in this chapter. The aim is to understand, through historical methodology, how these small and distant European colonies have become part of a particular regional policy. The underlying question is how much is left of the colonialist approach and how new is the link between the European Union and the Outermost Regions.
