The paper presents the results of methodological research carried out by Authors for the preparation of a comparative analysis on managerial control in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Bosnia Erzegovina, Brazil and Italy respectively in the district of Banja Luka, San Caetano and Forlì-Cesena. The most surprising result of the research on these topics was the discussion on MSMEs control system that brought directly to the role and features of control in Family Business (FB). The main reason of this emergent item was that in the survey carried out by Authors in their own country the formal control in MSMEs was mainly overcome by informal processes undertaken by family organizations.
