Abstract
''Fort San Biagio - Werk Colle delle Benne", situated on a natural terrace overlooking Levico, the lake and Fort Tenna, with which it controlled the access to Trento from the upper Valsugana, has always represented an outpost controlling the area, due to its geographical position and architectural layout. The fort is a formidable example of military architecture and in some ways represents an exemplary model of stereotomy, which it is worth reconstructìng and protecting. It is a schist stone casemate construction w1th a characteristic ìrregular pentagonal layout and a deep ditch around all sides, capable of responding to the needs of the defence systems with regard to practical and strategic requirements and the shape of the terrain. lts restoration therefore represents a unique opportunity to recover, conserve and enhance this type of fortified architecture and the surrounding landscape. The project provides for reconstruction of parts of the walls which have collapsed and structural consolidation, not making an impossible attempt at stylistic reconstruction, but rather adopting the principle of abstraction, reintegration and representation of an evocative image. The protect proposes to create this image through conservative restoration, animated by the principle of analogy and a reconstruction-pretence of the techniques of defence and daily life. offering spaces in which objects and scenes are displayed using "staged paths", through the creation of scenes inside the rooms of the fort, with the intention of transforming them into places where the world of imagination begins, the only possibility for actively stimulating memories.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
