The essay, through a reconstruction of the legislative framework and the guidelines outlined by jurisprudence and by European and national data protection Authorities, examines the principles contained in GDPR and applicable in setting and managing the working relationship. The Author notices how the working relationship makes always more use of computer tools which allow, directly or indirectly, the employee activities to be monitored. Thus, the compromise between opposite interests (privacy protection and corporate assets protection) can be guaranteed through a privacy compliance enhancement within the company policies, with the intent of preventing or at least reducing any kind of illicit data processing.

Il saggio, attraverso una ricostruzione del quadro normativo di riferimento e degli orientamenti delineati dalla giurisprudenza e dai Garanti per la privacy in ambito europeo e nazionale, illustra i principi contenuti nel GDPR ed applicabili nelle fasi di instaurazione e gestione del rapporto di lavoro.
