This research focuses on functionalized films and advanced coatings for the building envelope: very thin parts, but able to increase the bulk performance, and then the whole system. Advanced films and coatings for the building envelope are increasingly available, but there is a lack of homogeneous information about the effects of their application. The main result is a database-tool to support design decision about these devices: it’s crucial to predict the performance of the building components since the early design stage, especially for transparent components, where they act as adherent light-control devices.

Abstract
This research focuses on functionalized films and advanced coatings for the building envelope: very thin parts, but able to increase the bulk performance, and then the whole system. Advanced films and coatings for the building envelope are increasingly available, but there is a lack of homogeneous information about the effects of their application. The main result is a database-tool to support design decision about these devices: it’s crucial to predict the performance of the building components since the early design stage, especially for transparent components, where they act as adherent light-control devices.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
