Sulle rotte degli Etruschi: traffici arcaici fra Etruria e Sardegna

The existence of an Etruscan direct trade with Sardinia in the late Orien- talizing and Archaic Age is usually denied, especially in view of the extreme rarity of the Etruscan amphorae on the island. The idea of a Phoenician monopolistic trade returning from the Etruscan coasts is preferred. In this paper I will attempt to delve further into the question by analyzing some clues that might show that the Etruscans habitually frequented the Sar- dinian coasts. In particular the analysis will be focused on the Tyrrhenian searoutes, which can be valuable in supporting this thesis. We can assume that Etruscan ships returning from the french Midi didn’t follow the same route as on the outward journey (which touched the Tuscan archipelago and Cap Corse), but that in fact natural and economical reasons su est a longer route with stops at some λιμένα or ἐπίνεια of Sardinia.
