With the title “The nobility of the Restoration”, as a literary borrow of the efforts that some activities such as painting carried out in previous centuries for their recognition as a liberal art; this paper presents a deliberation about the efforts of the Restoration in order to be recognized by other disciplines as a scientific or technoscientific activity. This dissertation is presented with a brief revision of theoretical debates and the development that Restoration has had in the last years in different contexts, mainly in Mexico, trying to glimpse the actual situation of the discipline, its scientific production and the future challenges.
