Here I argue that the analysis of existing and emerging democracies – giving examples of some of the new democracies in East-Central Europe - would gain significantly if democratic political culture would be understood in the plural. In this, I suggest a ‘multiple democracies’ approach, related to a conceptualization of Europeanization as including processes of politico-cultural differentiation.

Abstract
Here I argue that the analysis of existing and emerging democracies – giving examples of some of the new democracies in East-Central Europe - would gain significantly if democratic political culture would be understood in the plural. In this, I suggest a ‘multiple democracies’ approach, related to a conceptualization of Europeanization as including processes of politico-cultural differentiation.File in questo prodotto:
