The essay examines the presence of Dante’s literary model in Six nights on the Acropolis ̶ the only novel written by the Greek poet Ghiorgos Seferis ̶ whose posthumous publication seems to attest a precocious interest of the poet for Dante. This work, read in a Dantean key, has in effect numerous affinities, in both style and content, with the Comedy ̶ some of which suggested by Seferis himself who, dazzled by Dante’s verses, emphasizes the sensorial values, in an entirely earthly perspective.
