The paper aims to explore the concept and the phenomenology of bullying by considering its multidimensionality in a sociological perspective. With this aim, the article reports the principal definitions, which allow a better understand of the concept. The second part is devoted to a review of the empirical literature concerning bullying. The final part is focused on strategies of intervention and policies to combat bullying.
