In our multicultural societies we need to open a renewed reflection about religion, in particular in its connection with education. In this perspective we are led by the key-concepts of religious sense (a universal, unconscious "a priori") and religiosity (a human, educable ability). They are two transversal and transcultural dimensions of the human nature, and they are the vital core of every authentic confessional membership and of secular positions of investigation about the meaning of reality. Thanks to these cathegories, it is possible to reinterpret the role of religious dimension in personal experience and the function and the characteristics of religious education in our plural world.
