Starting from the narrations of a group of young aspirant teachers, the essay portrays the figure of the "bad teacher". His/her incompetence is evident relatively to the contents of his/her discipline, the verification/evaluation of the results, the communicative skills. Its origins are various: misunderstanding of his/her own function, unfriendliness with self-reflection about his/her own way of acting, cheap awareness of his/her own students (the structure of their psyche, their educational needs), misconception of knowledge and the ways it can be transmitted. The formation of teachers is not about proposing procedures, but deals with re-defining scholastic discipline as taught discipline. Consequently, the mastery of the discipline always includes narrative and communicative connotations and a constant reshaping of topics and contents.
