Within a lexico-syntactic framework, this paper deals with the selection of perfective auxiliaries in a north-western Italian dialectal area, namely the Biellese. By analyzing data from questionnaires and from written texts, the authors draw conclusions regarding the validity of the recently proposed Auxiliary Selection Hierarchy and on the attempted Ausbauization of the Biellese dialect.
