Abstract
Roman opus caementicium vaulted spaces are topics of great interest for researchers: their formal innovation, technological and logistic aspects of their construction and consequent fortune in later times. In these studies, Hadrian’s Villa represents a pivotal point for Western architecture due to its high concentration of domes. They form a sort of catalogue of unprecedented covering solutions for central plan layouts. In this paper a series of reality-based models of these structures will be discussed, with special emphasis on the relation: survey, geometric patterns.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
