Tra irriguo e seccagno: le trasformazioni recenti nella Media Valle dello Zeravshan, Uzbekistan

Between irrigated and dry lands: today's territory transformations in the Middle Zerovshan Valley, Uzbekistan. The aim of this article is included in the field studies of land and water in arid and semi-arid environments, with special reference to Post-Soviet Central Asia and to Uzbekistan, where the research was carried out. It focuses on the today's transformations analysis between irrigated areas and dry areas in the Middle Zeravshan Valley. The two areas reflect the territorial characteristics of Central Asia, which is marked by huge arid lands alternated with river agricultural oases. After a slow complicated land decollectivization process and period of transition from the socialist system, the latter still far from its completion, the study of that region is very emblematic and significant.
