In the last years, there has been a rise in the use of sleeve gastrectomy (SG) as primary surgical option in the management of morbid obesity. As result, SG specimens (SGSs) are commonly received for histological examination. In the majority of cases, histological findings are no specific modifications and/or benign inflammatory diseases, with a very low percentage of premalignant conditions, benign and/or malignant tumors, including exceptional reported cases of lymphomas. In this study, we present a case of extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma incidentally diagnosed on an SGS, with a brief literature review of analogous cases in this particular setting of patients.

Abstract
In the last years, there has been a rise in the use of sleeve gastrectomy (SG) as primary surgical option in the management of morbid obesity. As result, SG specimens (SGSs) are commonly received for histological examination. In the majority of cases, histological findings are no specific modifications and/or benign inflammatory diseases, with a very low percentage of premalignant conditions, benign and/or malignant tumors, including exceptional reported cases of lymphomas. In this study, we present a case of extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma incidentally diagnosed on an SGS, with a brief literature review of analogous cases in this particular setting of patients.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
