The «Archivio Mangini», preserved at the Department of Organic Chemistry A. Mangini (now, Department of Industrial Chemistry «Toso Montanari») of Bologna University since 1985, contains a large amounts of documents showing Mangini’s teaching and institutional activities at the Faculty of Industrial Chemistry for more than 50 years, as well as his positions at Società Chimica Italiana, C.N.R.-Committee for Chemistry and many other scientific Institutions and Academies. Furthermore, the Archive contains many documents related to personal relations between A. Mangini and prominent scientists both from Italy and from abroad: inter alia, sir C. K. Ingold, C. A. Coulson, A. Tiselius, J. Lecomte, M. Korach, G. B. Bonino, D. Marotta, G. Natta, A. Quilico, V. Caglioti. The Library of Industrial Chemistry was recently involved in a project to perform an investigation and analytical inventory of the whole body: documents, photograpies and other materials. The inventory is now accessible on-line at the link: http://chimicaindustriale.sba. unibo.it/chi-siamo/storia-e-collezioni/archivio-mangini/archivio-mangini The Archive sums up to over 100 u.i. (unità archivistiche), comprising 105 boxes, 542 folders and 283 sub-folders for a total of more than 15 linear meters of documents.
